At Vancouver Physiotherapy Hub, we know that the impacts felt from motor-vehicle accidents affect every aspect of your life. That’s why we take a unique approach to physiotherapy by providing you with a therapeutic team; from the outset, you are matched with a physiotherapist and a kinesiologist. Together, your therapeutic team will design, implement and oversee a program that is specifically targeted to you and your goals. While your physiotherapist helps treat you in the clinic, your kinesiologist monitors your progress beyond your therapy sessions, giving you the needed support to take your recovery out of the clinic and into the rest of your life.
What can I expect in my session?
During your initial visit, you are immediately matched with a physiotherapist and a kinesiologist. From there, you will have a thorough assessment, in which your physiotherapist will assess your injuries. During your sessions, your physiotherapist will employ a range of techniques, including (but not limited to) manual therapy, IMS, stretching and exercise prescription. In addition, your physiotherapist will communicate closely with your kinesiologist, who will be monitoring your progress during your recovery. Your kinesiologist may also implement and oversee other therapies to aid your recovery. This includes Registered Massage Therapy, Acupuncture, and Chiropractic care. Our multi-disciplinary clinic makes this easy for you, providing you not only with your active rehab but also with all your other therapies in one clinic.
Frequently Asked Questions
Am I eligible for the ICBC physiotherapy program? Yes, if you have been in a car accident after April 1st 2019, and have an open ICBC claim, you are automatically pre-approved for 3 months (from the date of the MVA) for 12 sessions of kinesiology and 25 sessions of physiotherapy appointments. If you have been in a motor vehicle accident prior to April 1st 2019 and still have an open claim, or it has been over 3 months since the date of your accident, a doctor’s note is required for your treatments. How do I get started with the ICBC program? In order to get started with your appointments, you need to provide our reception team with your ICBC Claim number, date of your accident, your name and your date of birth. After that, we will contact your claim specialist on your behalf and take care of the rest. How much will ICBC cover? ICBC will cover all of your treatment costs with no user fee. Please call our reception team to discuss your specific claim coverage. At Vancouver Physiotherapy Hub, we understand how impactful motor-vehicle accidents can be on your life.
